The Detroit Tigers had an easy time of it at Comerica Park defeating the
Cleveland Indians by a score of 12 to 5.
 
Detroit promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they tallied 2
runs on 1 hit.  Detroit ended up with 16 hits for the game while Cleveland
had 9.  
 
Kenny Rogers(1-0) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Jarrod
Washburn(0-3) was the losing pitcher.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 5
innings.
