J.J. Hardy connected with a 'big fly' and had 3 RBI as the Los Angeles(AL)
Angels topped the Detroit Tigers by a score of 7 to 3 at Angels Stadium.
 
Los Angeles(AL) had 3 runs cross the plate in the 5th inning with the help of
3 hits.  Grady Sizemore kicked off the action when he doubled.  Luis Castillo
next to the plate and he doubled.  After another out, Adam Dunn followed, but
he was set down on strikes.  Hardy was up next and he popped a two-run clout
over the fence (his 11th of the season).  Detroit was out-hit by Los
Angeles(AL), 12 hits to 3.  
 
The victory was credited to Rich Harden(7-0) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. Brandon Backe(1-1) was the loser.  Los Angeles(AL) now has a record of
a division leading 26-26.  With the loss, the Detroit ballclub's record is
19-30, worst in the division.
