A's take 3 of 4 from Texas

Game 1
Kyle Lohse was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Ameriquest Field as the Oakland Athletics beat the Texas Rangers 2 to
1
Oakland jumped on top to stay in the top of the 2nd inning scoring one runner.
The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to
score again.
The win went to Lohse(3-9) who allowed 1 run in the game. Matt Harrison(1-4)
was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 7 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.

Game 2

Center fielder Chris Young had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Texas Rangers beat
the Oakland Athletics by a score of 5 to 3.
In the 3rd inning Texas scored 3 runs. That scoring would be all that was
needed. Both teams finished the game with 6 hits.
Luke Hochevar(4-6) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Francisco Rodriguez gained credit for his 12th save. The loss was charged to
Brian Bass(2-2).

Game 3

Center fielder Mike Cameron added four ribbies to his seasonal total with one
swing of the bat and A.J. Burnett dominated striking out 14 Texas batters as
the Oakland Athletics man-handled the Texas Rangers - the final score was 16
to 3.
Cameron provided much of the offense. He doubled which scored a run in the
1st inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 9th of the season) in the 2nd
inning and slapped a single in the 8th inning. Oakland lit up the scoreboard
in the 2nd inning when they had 4 runs on 3 hits and the 9th inning with 8
runs on 7 hits. Oakland banged out 17 hits on the afternoon.
The win was credited to Burnett(1-8) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Andrew Miller(0-4) was the loser. Jeremy Byrd was impressed with Burnett and
his 14 strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact
with the ball.'

Game 4

Brandon Webb pitched 9 strong innings as the Oakland Athletics beat the league
door-mat Texas Rangers by a score of 6 to 0.
Oakland had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 4th inning when they had
3 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Victor Martinez who
silenced the crowd when he doubled plating two runs. Oakland finished with
just 5 hits in the victory.
Webb(5-9) was credited with the shutout. Jeff Francis(0-6) suffered the loss.
He allowed 4 hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings.
