In a tight game it was the Los Angeles(AL) Angels 7, the Minnesota Twins 5 at
Angels Stadium.
Los Angeles(AL) jumped on top to stay in the bottom of the 6th inning as they
scored 2 runs on 3 base hits. The Minnesota bats were silent in the 9th.
Ervin Santana(12-12) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. J.P. Howell
earned his 27th save. Matt Cain(11-11) was hit with the loss. He allowed a
few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Rousel Glaciano said after the game. 'Santana did not have
command of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew
how to pitch!'
