The incredible New York (NL) Mets came roaring back in the top of the ninth to
spoil the anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,,
was 8 to 6.

New York (NL) won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning with 3
runs on 4 hits. Travis Ishikawa led off and keyed the rally when he
delivered a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Dustin Pedroia stepped
up to the plate and he laced a base-hit. One out later, Nate McLouth stepped
in and he belted a three-run homer (his 20th of the season). J.D. Drew
followed and he lined a base-hit. Reggie Abercrombie was the next batter,
but he struck out. Kerry Wood(6-5) was helped out by Jonathan Papelbon who
pitched a perfect ninth and recorded his 52nd save.

Joakim Soria(5-8) took the loss in relief. 'I pin this one on my own
shoulders,' Soria said. 'The bottom line is I didn't get the job done. Our
fans deserve better than this.'
