Armando Galarraga pitched a 2 hitter and Ryan Raburn went yard and had 3 RBI
as the Detroit Tigers topped the Cleveland Indians by a score of 7 to 1 at
Comerica Park.
In the 7th inning Detroit went on top for good as they scored 3 runs on 5 base
hits. The highlight belonged to Raburn who brought a roar from the partisan
Comerica Park fans when he blasted a two-run home run (his 3rd of the
season). The game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
The victory went to Galarraga(11-11) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The
losing pitcher was Jarrod Washburn(7-13). When questioned about his
counterpart after the game, Washburn was lavish in his praise, 'It was
obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long night.
Galarraga brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able to
spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the entire
game!
