Jack Wilson had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Petco Park where the amazing San
Diego Padres beat the St. Louis Cardinals 9 to 2.

St. Louis never recovered after San Diego took the lead in the 6th inning
scoring 2 runs on 2 hits. Ross Gload led off and started the attack as he
drew a walk. Franklin Gutierrez followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Craig Counsell then doubled. Wilson stepped in and he singled. Scott
Feldman stepped into the box and laid down a sacrifice bunt. San Diego ended
up with 12 hits for the game while St. Louis had 9.

The victory was credited to Paul Maholm(7-5) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Alfredo Aceves recorded the save, his 17th. Ryan Dempster(7-10) was
the losing pitcher. He allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
