WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Jorge Posada blocked the plate, saving a run!

24,065 fans watched an exciting game at PNC Park. The Pittsburgh Pirates
registered 4 runs in the 6th inning and topped the reeling Milwaukee Brewers
by the slimmest of margins, 7 to 6.

Jorge Posada enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He lined a one-base hit
bringing in a run in the 4th inning and belted a three-run homer in the 6th
inning. Milwaukee had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

James Shields(6-6) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Jose
Valverde recorded the save, his 20th. The loss was charged to Clayton
Richard(2-10) in relief. He allowed Pittsburgh 4 runs in 2 innings of work.

Marc Arnold was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good contact,
but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning these
tight ones! It was just our evening - no doubt about it!'
