Hunter Pence had 4 hits as the Minnesota Twins beat the Baltimore Orioles by a
score of 7 to 2.
Minnesota promptly took the lead in their half of the first with 3 runs using
3 hits. Jed Lowrie led off and started the rally when he slapped a one-base
hit, and an error was also committed. After an out was recorded, Jason Bay
came up and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 3rd of
the season). After another out, Melvin Mora stepped in and he hit a
bases-empty home run (his 1st of the season). That was all the offense they
were to need. Minnesota ended up with 13 hits for the game while Baltimore
had 9.
The win was credited to Cliff Lee(3-0) who went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing no
runs. Lee got help from Bobby Jenks who was credited with his 2nd save. Matt
Garza(0-1) suffered the loss. He pitched 7 innings giving up 8 hits and 1
walk.
